Internet Access

Whether you need a reliable business grade service for home workers, small offices or a dedicated connection for business-critical communications, we have a variety of internet access options with stringent Standards of Service to allow your business to thrive. An effective data network is an absolute priority for your business. The amount of work your employees can do and the service your customers receive are dependent on the speed and quality of your network.

ADSL2+ is the traditional internet provision utilized in most UK homes and business, theoretically carrying speeds up to 24Mbit/s. Running over the copper wire telecoms network your ADSL2+ will require a PSTN analogue line to carry its service.

FTTC stands for Fiber to the Cabinet. It’s a modern broadband internet connection which, instead of using your existing copper phone line all the way from the telephone exchange to your house or office, uses a fiber-optic connection from the exchange to the “street cabinet” nearest to you. Again, FTTC would also require a PSTN analogue line to carry the service from the local cabinet to your premises.

Both ADSL2+ and FTTC are contested networks, meaning the further you are from the exchange the less likely you are to achieve a quick reliable network speed, also during peak hours of the day/years you will see your network performance effected by external demand. If you require an uncontested guaranteed service and connection, then investigate Leased Line options
